Nearly every industry requires the separation of solids from liquids at some stage in their manufacturing processes. With over 10 years of expertise, Sharp excels at fulfilling this need through advanced decanter centrifuge technology. The decanter centrifuge operates on a straightforward principle similar to that of a settling tank, where particles, sediment, and solids naturally sink to the bottom under the influence of gravity.
A decanter centrifuge separates solids from one or two liquid phases in a continuous process by leveraging centrifugal forces that can exceed 3,000 times the force of gravity. Under these extreme forces, the denser solid particles are driven outward against the rotating bowl’s wall, while the less dense liquid forms a concentric inner layer. The depth of the liquid can be adjusted using different dam plates to meet specific requirements.
The solid sediment is continuously removed by a screw conveyor, which rotates at a different speed than the bowl, gradually pushing the solids out of the pond and up the conical beach. The centrifugal force compacts the solids, expelling any excess liquid. The dried solids are then discharged from the bowl, while the clarified liquid phase overflows the dam plates at the opposite end of the bowl.
Sharp utilizes high-grade stainless steel for all components that come into contact with the process, effectively eliminating the risk of corrosion that is commonly associated with carbon steel.
Sharp ensures that all parts in contact with the process are made from high-grade stainless steel, effectively eliminating the risk of corrosion that can occur with carbon steel. This choice of material not only enhances durability but also ensures longevity and reliability in demanding environments.
Key features of Sharp’s products include minimum maintenance requirements, dimensional accuracy, and a longer working life, making them ideal for a wide range of chemical and food processing industries. The robust construction and durability of these products ensure excellent performance, even under challenging conditions.
